A New Ellenton man and woman were charged Monday after a large amount of drugs were located in their car during a traffic stop on Augusta Road in Gloverville.

Brianna Shardell Wigfall, 20, of Camel Street, and Rakeem Rashaud Jackson, 19, of Green Street, are both charged with trafficking meth; trafficking meth within a half-mile from a school; three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within a half-mile from a school, according to jail records.

Wigfall also is charged with unlawful manufacture of meth within the presence of a child and unlawful neglect of a child, records show.

Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped the suspect's vehicle Sunday around 11 p.m. and had a K-9 conduct a "free air sniff," according to the incident report.

The K-9 alerted to police that there were narcotics in the vehicle, the report states.

Deputies reported finding a black bag under the passenger seat filled with meth and different kinds of prescription drugs.

A juvenile also was reportedly in the car and was taken into custody before being given to a family member, the report states.

Wigfall and Jackson were both taken to the Aiken County detention center, where they continue to be held Tuesday afternoon.
