Fans packed into Churchill Downs Saturday for the 150th Kentucky Derby, the longest continuously held sporting event in the country, and many said they felt the milestone made race day feel extra special this year. Some said that as they approached the track, they imagined what Churchill Downs must have been at that first race on May 17, 1875, when patrons arrived to watch the horses by riding horses there themselves.
