Barclay House of Aiken, a senior living community which was recently acquired by QSL Management, is hosting its first event under new management: Havana Nights, a social gathering which will be held at 530 Benton House Way location.

The Havana Nights event will take place on Thursday, April 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to socialize, eat, drink and relax as they experience a peek into life at Barclay House.

Open to the public, the event will feature entertainment by DJ Joka, authentic Cuban cuisine and cocktails, and Salsa dancing lessons. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the amenities that Barclay House offers.

“I think a lot of people have the misconception that in assisted living or memory care, it’s dull, and it’s boring and there’s not a lot going on,” said Executive Director Jennifer Allensworth. “So, we’re very excited to show everyone how much fun we have, that we are very social, that we love to have parties, we love music, we love dancing, really just to show people that there is a lot of fun to be had with our seniors.”

Kim Rayfield, director of sales, said this event is a way to “show our appreciation” to the residents “by having a nice event for them, something fun and exciting.”

Upon entering the doors of Barclay House, one can immediately sense the same belonging and hospitality that Glenn Barclay, the co-founder of QSL, envisioned for his loved one, Bertile. The dedication extends beyond treating residents as mere occupants; they are considered part of the family. It is this unwavering commitment to fostering a close-knit community that transforms Barclay House into a true home.

Amenities that residents can enjoy include:

• Three meals per day with multiple menu options and snacks

Housekeeping and laundry service

24-hour access to staff

Entire community on one level

Activities (exercise classes, games, art classes, concerts, happy hour, shopping trips)

Transportation to medical appointments

Medication and personal assistance as needed

Emergency response system

Full-service beauty and barber salon

Barclay House is dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized care to all of its residents. Its mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where residents can thrive.
