The building and equipment at Aiken's Jack Rogers Tire Pros is a total loss and the owner is still working to determine what his next steps are going to be.
"I don't know yet," CEO James Rogers said. "I'm still exploring my possibilities."
Rogers said an insurance investigator arrived Tuesday and is still investigating the cause of the fire. Rogers said once the investigator completes his assessment he'll learn how much money he'll receive.
"The ball is in their court," Rogers said. "I don't know if I'm going to rebuild [or] move to another location."
Rogers said a couple of people called and offered rental spaces.
He said he doesn't know whether he'll choose to rent a temporary location to serve his customers. However, he also said he knows it'll take at least a year to get a new building built so "I'm maybe looking to rent something."
Rogers added if he rents he'd like to move into a place that's move-in friendly so he can get back to work quicker.
An Aiken woman, Norma Chanda, established an GoFundMe to support Jack Rogers Tire Pros as it recovers.
Chanda said Jack Rogers Tire Pros has done a lot for the community and she wanted to return the favor.
The GoFundMe can be found by searching "Jack Rogers Tire Pros" at GoFundMe.com.
The fire occurred early Monday morning.
Aiken Department of Public Safety personnel responded to the fire at 2:19 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, more than 50% of the roofline was engulfed in flames and the building and all of the equipment inside is a total loss.
"Everything is ruined," Rogers said. "There's nothing left. It's a total loss."
Rogers said all but one of the business's car lifts, all the tire chargers, all the tire balancers and the front-end machines are destroyed.
