Silver Bluff's Jimmie Foreman rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries against Williston-Elko.

Sometimes it takes a football player a while to get into a groove to start the season. It didn't take Silver Bluff running back Jimmie Foreman long at all.

A 29-yard touchdown run just before the end of the first quarter was just the start. A 16-yard rushing score followed in the second quarter. He added another touchdown for good measure as Silver Bluff cruised to a 56-10 victory against Williston-Elko.

"I think it was more of a thing where I just got going. That was it," Foreman said. "It just came from there."

With the strong performance also came the designation of the Aiken Standard and Fan Favorite Player of the Week.

Foreman finished the game with 12 carries for 147 yards and three touchdowns. It was a strong start for Foreman, who also spends time at linebacker.

"I was a little nervous before the start, but then when I got going I just got used to it," Foreman said. "I just started playing ball like I know how to."

He didn't spend much time reflecting on it, however. The Bulldogs have a rivalry matchup Friday against the Barnwell Warhorses. That's where all his attention went immediately following his big performance.

"I'm just focused on the upcoming game and trying to keep that momentum going," he said.
