Letters to the Editor

For the last three years, the front page news of American politicians make the movie "War of the Worlds" look like a kiddie cartoon. The big difference in the casting is that the star of the present show is using diatribes that make Twitter look more like a raptor sticking its talons into prey than a pleasant bird song. Add to that the fact that his detractors have nothing to say except ranting how much they hate him.

Neither side gives hope that anything will be done to solve the many problems that face our country. There isn’t anyone in the ring now except the most pugilistic, egotistical characters, some who spit invectives and others who are too young to know what they’re talking about. The show goes on ad infinitum with its extremely disappointing lack of answers, causing alarm not just at home but around the world.

Mark Twain said, "The political and commercial morals of the United States are not merely food for laughter, they are an entire banquet.”

Hopefully he is wrong this time. Surely there is someone with good sense and strong principals to bring sanity and hope to our banquet, not laughter.
