It’s clear that the Trump Administration's policies have been an incredible success. From creating stronger trade deals for American workers to another killer quarter of GDP growth, our nation’s economy under President Donald Trump has continued to see remarkable, unprecedented gains. After years of slow growth under former President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, the American people finally have a leader putting their interests first, and the results have been outstanding.

Just take a look at our economy: Thanks to strong leadership in the White House and a dedication to putting the America people back to work, our economy has grown to record highs, even recording an impressive 3.2% GDP growth in the first quarter of 2019 – the best start in years.

The successes don’t stop there. The most recent jobs report confirmed our nation created an incredible 263,000 jobs while bringing the unemployment rate down to its lowest level since 1969.

It is abundantly clear, America is booming, and so is South Carolina under the leadership of President Donald Trump, Gov. Henry McMaster, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Tim Scott, and all of our conservative leadership. In the Palmetto State, the unemployment rate has dropped to 3.2% with an additional 54,000 jobs created in 2018 alone. On top of tax cuts South Carolinians received back in 2017, taxes were reduced for small business owners while putting more money back into your families’ pockets at an average of $1,349 a year. Under the Trump Administration, we are continuously seeing "promises made, promises kept."

President Trump continues to enact and push for policies that guide our nation to new horizons. Take the push for the United States-Mexico-Canada Act, better known as the USMCA, for example. This trade agreement would bring our trade relationship into the 21st century, reverse unfair trade practices, and put the American worker first. A study from the International Trade Commission showed that the USMCA would add $68.2 billion to the U.S. economy and create 176,000 new jobs. On top of this, President Trump recently announced that the United States had reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico to lift steel and aluminum tariffs. This is great news for our country and is just one more example of President Trump fulfilling his campaign promises to create jobs.

With over 5 million jobs created since the election of President Donald J. Trump and more job openings than people looking for work, the American economy is reaching new heights and benefiting South Carolinians from Barnwell to Beaufort.

The evidence is undeniable: May has been another month of historic gains, strong leadership and most importantly, an example of what we can achieve when we put America first.
