BATH -- On Friday night, Feb. 20, 2009, Mr. Nathaniel "Nate" Landy, 46, of 193 Minter St., Bath, said farewell to his loyal and devoted family members and gracious friends. The funeral services in his honor will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at the South Aiken Church of God, 2700 Whiskey Road with the Rev. Henry Cook officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Friendship Baptist Church, Wagener. Mr. Landy was a native of Aiken and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he served in the capacities of trustee and was the president of the usher board. He was employed with Michelin Tire of Lexington for eight years as a tire inspector. He was a 1981 graduate of Aiken High School. To know him was to truly love and appreciate him. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his survivors: four children, Marlin Landy Sr., Natalie Landy, Cory Williams and Eric Dickerson; his precious grandson, Marlin Landy Jr.; his loving mother, Ida Mae Chandler-Landy of Aiken; four siblings, Angela Landy-Martin (Patrick), Diane Landy, Maurice Landy and Tina Landy, all of Aiken; his god-daughter, Marisa Odom; and a host of other extended bereaved relatives and loyal friends who will always cherish the life and legacy of this wonderful gentleman. The family will receive friends at the residence of his mother, 726 Washington Circle, Aiken. The viewing will be held today from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday from noon until the hour of service at the church.
