Edward 'Hambone' Hamilton

LANGLEY -- Entered into rest on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, Mr. Edward "Hambone" Hamilton, 77, of 59 O'Banion Court, Langley. Surviving is a special lady friend, Mary Regan, of Burnettown; four children, Olivia Holland (Wayne) and Rollie E. Hamilton (Beverly), both of Warrenville, Bill Hamilton (Cindy) of Gloverville, and Heyward Hamilton (Robin) of Windsor; a sister, Myrtle Lamb of North Augusta; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hamilton was the son of the late Henry Hamilton and Corrie Key Hamilton Bethune. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from civil service at Fort Gordon with 22 years of service, he attended Langley Church of God and he loved playing the guitar. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at Langley Church of God with the Revs. Benny Burton and Jim Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Sterling, Lloyd "Red" Goodwin, James Wise, Larry Newman, Ervin Hodges and Danny Porter. Friends may call at the residence of Olivia Holland, 5174 Pleasant Point, Warrenville, or on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, U.S. Highway 1, Langley.
