Two men detained, one sought after drug raid

A drug raise on a home in North Augusta yielded two arrests, and authorities are seeking a third person, according to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.

James Leroy Dandy Jr., 35, and Kishon Orlando Priester, 26, were detained for possession of crack cocaine and placed in the Aiken County detention center, where they remained on Wednesday afternoon.

Dandy was also charged with third-degree assault and battery, providing false information and failure to appear.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Francis Street early Wednesday, Lt. Tim Thornton said in a statement.

“Based on an extensive narcotic investigation, sufficient evidence was collected to obtain a search warrant for illegal drug activity coming from the occupants of the residence,” Thornton said. After entering the home, officers located and detained Dandy and Priester.

A third target of the investigation, 35-year-old John Nathaniel Tandy, was not at the home and is being sought by authorities, Thornton said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call North Augusta Public Safety at 803-279-2121 or CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
