A brief tornado was seen east of Beech Island and south of Aiken during Sunday's thunderstorms.
Chris Rohrbach, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Columbia did say they were notified of a tornado.
"We have received at least two reports of funnel clouds and a video that was shared with us via social media," he said.
Rohrbach said the radar picked up an area of weak rotation near Boyd Pond Park, which is located a few miles south of Aiken off Silver Bluff Road.
The video shared with them most likely came from Chris Jackson's tweet which showed a video of the tornado developing.
After scorching heat baked a very dry Aiken County in May, the area has been pounded by heavy rain lately.
Rohrbach said there were no reports of any damage.
Much of Aiken County was under a flash flood watch for part of the day on Sunday and the rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue through Wednesday.
