Aiken Public Safety finally has arrested the man charged in connection with a 2013 burglary on the 600 block of Schroder Avenue in downtown Aiken.
Rondre Jeffrey Gomillion, 25, of Converse Drive in Aiken, is charged with first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to jail records.
On Jan. 18, 2013, officers responded to 681 Schroeder Ave. in reference to a past tense burglary, according to the report.
Upon arrival, investigators spoke with the victim who claimed someone had broken in, stealing two televisions and a Playstation 3 gaming console, altogether worth around $2,000, the report states.
She claimed the glass to the back door of the residence had been missing for a few days, making it easy access for anyone wanting to break in, the report states.
The victim told investigators Gomillion and his brother had been at the residence two days prior. She said she had reason to believe they may have committed the burglary, police reported.
Following an investigation, warrants were issued for Gomillion's arrest, but he somehow managed to evade law enforcement for nearly six years.
Investigators located Gomillion on Friday and took him to the Aiken County detention center, where he was finally charged. He is still being held at the jail as of Monday afternoon.
Records show Gomillion was also charged in connection with a burglary in 2012.
