Shirer Family Dentistry is a drop-off location for donations to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. From left, are Kristen Stoker, Dr. Michael Shirer, Deidra Heath, Tiffany James, Megan Schroeder, Mckenzie Tedford, Amy Padgett, Dr. Susannah Shirer and Kinsli Yarborough, office manager.

Those wanting to donate to victims of Hurricane Harvey can do so by taking items to Shirer Family Dentistry through Sept. 14.

Kensli Yarborough, office manager at Shirer Family Dentistry, 420 Hitchcock Parkway, said they have coordinated with Carter Trucking Company in Ninety Six to take items to a church in Texas.

Yarborough said they prefer items over money. They are asking for canned goods, baby food, baby formula, pet food, cleaning supplies, diapers, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, wet wipes and toiletries. Yarborough said not to bring bottled water because by the time the trucks get there Sept. 16, they will have enough water, she said.

"As a family practice, you know we care about the community, we care about our patients and we care about the families here," Yarborough said. "It's important to us to not only help our community, but bring our community together and make a positive difference in helping somebody else."

The cut-off date for donations is Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. The office's hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
