SPARTANBURG -- U.S. Rep. Bob Inglis already has a challenger less than a month after his latest term began. Spartanburg resident Christina Jeffrey told the Herald-Journal of Spartanburg she hopes her early announcement will reduce the number of opponents she might have and give her more time to introduce herself to voters. Jeffrey plans to run in the Republican primary against Inglis in 2010. Inglis represents the 4th District, which is made up mostly of Greenville and Spartanburg counties. Inglis was sworn in to serve his sixth term earlier this month. He served in the U.S. House from 1993-1999, but gave up his seat because of a term-limit pledge. He was re-elected in 2004 and has served since.
