According to reports from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:

Burglaries were reported at homes on Old Sudlow Lake Road in North Augusta and Cedar Road in Aiken on Friday.

A Martinez, Ga., woman reported on Friday that a man she described as the father of her child stole a check from her for an account that had been closed for five years. She said the check was cashed for $300 at a store at the Racers Food Store on Trolley Line Road in Aiken.

Stolen vehicles were reported on Old Camp Long Road in Aiken and Bryant Avenue in North Augusta on Saturday.

An Aiken man reported burglaries at two houses on Wire Road on Sunday. He said someone had taken “several items” from one of the homes and that an air conditioning unit was missing from the other home.

A Warrenville woman attempted to buy merchandise with a counterfeit $20 bill at a gas station on Columbia Highway in Aiken on Saturday. The woman said she wasn’t aware that the bill was counterfeit and said she thought she had gotten it when she had cashed a check at a gas station on Richland Avenue.

A North Augusta man said an unknown white male went into the laundry room at his house on Hampton Avenue on Saturday and then tried to enter the house. The victim confronted the subject and they got into a fight. The victim chased the subject when he ran away, but lost him when the subject ran into the woods. The responding officer reported that the victim’s belongings were “scattered all over the laundry room.”

A Beech Island woman reported on Friday that someone opened the sliding front window of her house without her permission and took $213 from a plastic Clorox bleach wipes container that she had in her bedroom. The responding officer spoke with a Beech Island man who said he saw another male Beech Island resident reach his arm into the front window of the victim’s house that day. But the witness said he didn’t see the subject take anything.

An Aiken man reported on Friday that a black man assaulted him and punched him after asking him for money while he was walking on Washington Drive. The victim, who was interviewed by the responding officer in a hospital emergency room, said he told the subject he didn’t have any money before he was attacked. The subject fled the scene.
