The Pass It On Kidsignment Sale is on its way back to Aiken's First Baptist Church for fall. The sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 19 at the First Baptist Church gymnasium, located at 120 Chesterfield St. N.E. Organizers are looking for people to sign up for consignment spaces, and for volunteers, according to sale co-chair Connie Kinney. "If you volunteer eight hours or more, you can come to our preview sale Thursday night, before it opens to the public on Friday," Kinney said. "We are also looking for donations. Everything we're looking for has to do with children: clothes, toys, books, games, equipment, computer wares, maternity items and items for babies. Anything that can be related to a young child, we accept it at our sales." Sale organizers accept donations for the fall sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Kinney said the church also accepts donations of items year-round and will store contributions until the next sale; arrangements for donations between sales can be made by calling Kinney at 215-1503. "Everything that goes on the main floor has to be perfect, no flaws or tears, but we do have a dollar room and what goes in there are things with little flaws," she said. "We keep recall books, and things that have been recalled can't go in our sale; we try to be very careful about that." The sale requires more than 100 volunteers twice yearly to make ensure it runs smoothly, and many return for sale after sale, according to Kinney. "It's kind of like a reunion twice a year," she said. "We have a wonderful work environment, very encouraging, and we just want to be as Christlike as we can to everybody who comes in that door." Admission to the Pass It On Kidsignment Sale is free both days, and items will go to half price on Saturday. For more information about the sale, call 215-15030 or (678) 886-5078.
