Jami Ray Todd

A North Augusta man was charged Monday following a shooting incident at a Belvedere home.

Jami Ray Todd, 39, of 119 Sanders Drive in Belvedere, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to jail records.

Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies responded around 10 p.m. Monday to the residence and met with a man, who also resided in the home, claiming Todd fired a handgun several times after they got into an argument.

The complainant told investigators Todd was somewhere in the back of the house, believed to still be armed, police said, but deputies reported finding Todd in the back without the gun. The gun was later found.

Todd admitted to police he fired the gun three times, claiming to be irate after his roommate started arguing with him, the report states.

He said he fired one shot into a wall and two through a window.
