A North Augusta man could get up to 10 years in prison after being arrested Tuesday on charges related to child pornography.

Richard Wayne Beach, 46, of North Augusta has been charged with four counts connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a news release from the S.C. Attorney General.

Investigators say Beach distributed multiple files of child pornography, according to a release. He was arrested March 12 and charged with four counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with the Attorney General's office arrested Beach, with help from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Secret Service.

The case will be prosecuted by the S.C. Attorney General's Office.

The average rate on a 30-year mortgage fell for the first time in four weeks, a slight relief for home shoppers already facing the challenges of rising housing prices and a shortage of homes for sale. The rate fell to 7.09% from 7.22% last week, mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday. A year ago, the rate averaged 6.35%. The modest pullback followed a five-week string of increases that pushed the average rate to its highest level since November 30.
