AUGUSTA — It is definitely not easy to walk the the hills and slopes at Augusta National.
Try doing it with a broken toe. Oh and here, put this bag on your back just to add to the fun.
That's what Duane Bock, the caddie for Aiken's Kevin Kisner, has had to deal with this week. Bock broke his toe several weeks ago and he's powered through the pain.
"He's a wuss," Kisner said jokingly.
Actually, Kisner admired the way Bock has worked this week.
"He's out there, he's struggling, this isn't the easiest place in the world to walk, but he's not going to miss it," Kisner said. "So he says it's getting better every day and I think he was struggling a little bit today."
The caddies have been the ones who have been injured more than golfers this week. Dustin Johnson's caddie Austin Johnson has a broken hand and even Bubba Watson's caddie, Ted Scott, has an issue.
"Oh, Teddy's got a lot of issues," Watson said. "This morning he goes, 'Hey, man, while you're putting I'm going to go tape my toe.' And I said, 'What's wrong with your toe?' He says, 'I don't know, man, it's hurting really bad.' He thinks it might be an ingrown toenail, I don't know what he said. But I just let him do what he does."
Jordan Spieth's second-half rally
Jordan Spieth was suffering through a below average round thanks to a double bogey on the par 5 No. 2. He made the turn at 1-over par, but then he caught a little fire, like he's prone to do at Augusta National.
"The front nine is harder to score on than the back nine," Spieth said. "I don't think that's totally out of the ordinary. I've historically played the front nine really well and it sets up an easier time on the back nine."
Spieth birdied 10, 12, 15 and 17 to end the day at 3-under par and 4-under for the tournament. At the time, it looked as though he may have battled back into contention, although it could set up a similar situation as last year when he would go on and shoot a 64 on the final day.
Star gazing at the Masters
Several stars and celebs of all areas have been spotted in and around the Masters.
On Saturday, Olympic swimming champion and 23-time gold medalist, Michael Phelps, was spotted on the course while in the press building during the morning, actor Kunal Nayyar - also known as Dr. Rajesh Koothrappali on The Big Bang Theory - and his cousin were getting a tour.
Friday, Former Notre Dame and New York Giants defensive end, Justin Tuck, was spotted on the course as was All-pro receiver and Arizona Cardinals legend, Larry Fitzgerald.
And in Aiken on Friday, reports had actor Mark Wahlberg at Whiskey Alley.
