Looking for a job? Looking to make a future-minded move? Look no further than the Aiken Standard Career Expo.

The event, sponsored by Aiken Staffing Associates and the third of its kind, will feature more than 20 vendors representing a breadth of industries: manufacturing and medical and clerical and more.

The expo will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St. S.W. The event will run for four hours: 3-7 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in business attire and bring a stack of resumes; a notebook to collect and record business cards and contacts is also a smart accessory.

Diane Daniell – a sales and special project manager with the Aiken Standard – said the expo is the perfect venue to market oneself or one's business.

"The Career Expo gives attendees a personal connection that only comes from face-to-face meeting," Daniell said, later summarizing the event as a "great vehicle … for interaction."

Isaac Kelly, a business manager with Aiken Staffing Associates, said his team has more than 40 jobs to fill in the Aiken area. Even more jobs are available considering the Bamberg, Barnwell, North Augusta and Augusta areas.

"We've got a good number of jobs," Kelly said, continuing: "I strongly recommend checking out the companies that are attending."

Kelly said last year's turnout was great, which is encouraging for this coming event.

"It's going to be good to see the candidates come in," Kelly said.
