It has been a century since Holley Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. was established by B.F. Holley in 1909. Then, the company operated under the name Holley Fuel Company and sold ice, coal and wood. These days, the company focuses more on servicing and supplying products for heating and air conditioning systems, hence its new name. Holley Heating and Air offers a full line of Carrier heating and air conditioning systems. They also distribute home heating oil and kerosene. According to Lee Boylston III, owner of Holley Heating and Air, what has sustained the company thus far is "good, honest business ethics," and its ability to adapt to the needs of Aiken consumers over the years. "Through the years, our business plan has changed with the times," Boylston said. In 1915, Holley Fuel Company began selling fuel and moved to its present location on Union Street. Decades later, in 1965, the company began offering heating and air services to its customers. In 1995, the company's name changed to Holley Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. "We've done a lot of business over the years, and what we continue to do is change to meet the needs of consumers," Boylston said. In celebration of 100 years, Boylston said the company is showing its thanks to Aiken by supporting the community that has supported them this past century. Holley Heating and Air will donate $500 each month this year to 12 Aiken County charities. The organizations will be chosen by local residents who either visit the company's website or call the office to vote for their favorite charity. People are allowed only vote each month. After selecting a charity, those who participate will receive a $45 gift certificate good toward any service provided by Holley Heating and Air. Boylston said the winning charity will be chosen at the end of each month. To vote, visit www.holley heatingandair.com or call 649-6551.
