The Edgefield Lions Club held its monthly meeting Oct. 21 at the Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center.
The group was presented an overview of the center’s programs, took a tour of the facility and had a lunch meeting.
“Our county’s young adults are so fortunate to have STCTC as a gateway to their futures” Lions Club member Arlene Traxler said.
The center’s students have eight career clusters from which to choose and 16 career majors within those clusters.
“Many students leave the Edgefield area after high school graduation, said the center’s director, Arthur Northrop. “The students who choose to stay in our area need to know the community in general and businesses and industries specifically are aware of the training they receive at STCTC.”
The Edgefield Lions Club’s focus is providing assistance to people in the community with vision needs.
