Democratic presidential filing opens in South Carolina

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Democratic Party has started accepting filings from candidates interested in participating in the upcoming presidential primary here.

Candidates have between 9 a.m. Monday and noon on December 4 to submit their notice of candidacy and pledge form to the state party.

South Carolina’s Democratic presidential primary is scheduled for February 27. Earlier this month, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley participated in a candidate forum at Winthrop University in Rock Hill.
