According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office:

An Aiken woman reported Friday morning a man came into a Chavous Road residence, where she was and accused her of owing him money for rides. He then started to drag her off the couch she where she was sitting. The woman said she pulled out her pepper spray and sprayed him in the face while he was attempting to drag her by her leg. The suspect fled before police arrived.

Deputies responded to a domestic incident between a man and woman at their Andrews Circle residence in Aiken on Thursday. The woman claimed she threw a cup at the man during an argument, but missed him. The man then picked the cup up and threw it back at her.

A Warrenville woman called police Thursday claiming an unknown man had taken her vehicle without permission from her Whaley Street home. The woman said the suspect had slept on her couch the night before, but another roommate had brought him there and she did not know his name.

An Aiken man reported Thursday he witnesses an unknown man leaving his Arellano Place residence with a bag of stolen items. The victim said he tried to chase the suspect, but lost him in the woods.

A Salley woman called police Thursday claiming an unknown man had stolen her vehicle while she was putting her horse in its stall on Abraham Drive in Windsor.

An Aiken man reported Thursday a Clearwater man had thrown a pipe wrench at his car while it was parked on Church Street in Clearwater, striking the passenger side and causing damage.

A Graniteville woman called police Friday morning claiming she caught her boyfriend having sexual relations with another man at a Connector Road home and he started chasing her when she called him “gay.” The woman told police she wants the man out of her house, but deputies explained that she has to have him evicted since he resides there.

A 51-year-old Warrenville man reported Thursday someone had stolen  multiple items from his front yard on Old Cherokee Drive.

A 22-year-old North Augusta woman called police Thursday claiming someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked outside her Rosemary Street residence.

A 58-year-old Aiken man reported Thursday a 35-year-old woman had assaulted him at his Timberland Road home. The man said the woman is a friend who stays the night from time to time, and she woke up Thursday morning “acting crazy.”

The average rate on a 30-year mortgage fell for the first time in four weeks, a slight relief for home shoppers already facing the challenges of rising housing prices and a shortage of homes for sale. The rate fell to 7.09% from 7.22% last week, mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday. A year ago, the rate averaged 6.35%. The modest pullback followed a five-week string of increases that pushed the average rate to its highest level since November 30. When mortgage rates rise, they can add hundreds of dollars a month in costs for borrowers, limiting how much homebuyers can afford.
