City Council meets in executive session, no action taken

Aiken City Council met in a special-called meeting on Monday at 5 p.m. to discuss negotiations about a proposed contractual arrangement and proposed sale or purchase of property.

According to Mayor Fred Cavanaugh, no action was taken following the two-hour executive session, and Council did not vote on the matter.

Council voted to go into executive session in the Municipal building’s Council Chambers, 214 Park Ave., which the press and the public are barred from entering.

The executive session was the only item on the agenda.
