Officials look into Tuesday shooting The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred in Graniteville Tuesday evening. Officers responded to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where the victim, George Mckie, 28, of Kershaw Street, was being treated. Mckie told investigators he was near A.P. Nivens Street in Graniteville when he was approached by two individuals who began to shoot at him. He was struck once in the back by a bullet. The victim called a cousin for help, who took him to the hospital. Investigators went to the location where the victim said he was shot, 412 Seastrunk St., and found a spent shell casing, a spent bullet and a quantity of crack cocaine inside the residence. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office at (800) 922-9709. Individuals also should call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME - SC. Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of between $50 and $1,000.
