An Aiken woman was jailed this weekend on a number of drug charges and first-degree burglary on allegations she has been involved in area break-ins, according to reports. During a traffic stop, at least three people were detained; however, Tammy C. Powell, 37, was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine second offense, firearms charge, possession of prescription drugs charge and first-degree burglary. An Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputy stopped the vehicle late last week when he was informed there may be stolen items in the vehicle. Inside the car, deputies said they found items reportedly belonging to victims of recent burglaries. The deputies also said they searched around the perimeter of the car and located a white pillow case with a small handgun, meth, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia. Over the weekend, Powell was charged for her alleged role in the crime. The case is still under investigation. Other charges may be pending. Contact Karen Daily at email@example.com.
