An Aiken man was charged Wednesday night in connection to a shots fired call.
Markael Khail Forrest, 22, of Sandlapper Drive, is charged with discharging a firearm in the city and unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to jail records.
Aiken Public Safety officers responded to the 900 block of Horry Street N.E. around 10 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a call about shots being fired in the area.
Investigators reported speaking with a 69-year-old man who claimed he was awakened by the sound of gunshots.
The man said he walked outside his home and saw two individuals talking and standing in the road.
During a search of the area officers reported locating a pack with a pistol inside.
Forrest was found by investigators hiding inside a stack of tires at McKinney Tire on York Street.
Forrest was arrested and taken to the Aiken County detention center, where he was still being held Friday afternoon.
Officers also located the female suspect, Jikerra Arjenae McNear, 20, at her home on Sumter Street in Aiken. After questioning her, McNear was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
