Thompson wins design contest
Taylor Thompson, a second-year student in architecture at the University of Tennessee was chosen as the winner of the college’s inaugural holiday e-message student design competition. Her snowflake-like design is an animated image that seems to reflect light as it reveals UT’s Power T at its center.
Thompson’s design will be digitally distributed to close to 4,000 alumni and friends of the college. Also as part of the win, she receives a $500 prize and her design will be featured on the school’s homepage.
Thompson is a graduate of North Augusta High School. She is the daughter of Andy and Missy Thompson.
Students named to dean’s list
Eugenia Antley and Madyson Williams of Batesburg, and Jackson Poole and Kurtis Poole of North Augusta were named to the dean’s list at Trevecca Nazarene University for the 2018 fall semester.
To be named to the Dean’s List, undergraduates must attain a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.
Hanger named to Berry dean’s list
Clara Hanger of Aiken was named to the dean’s list for the 2018 fall semester at Berry College.
The dean’s list honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
Angie’s List honors Aiken Pest Control
Aiken Pest Control has won the coveted service industry “Angie’s List Super Service Award” for a fifth time. This award is given annually to only about 5 percent of all the companies rated on Angie’s List, the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews on local service companies.
“This is the fifth time that Aiken Pest Control has received the Super Service Award, and I couldn’t be prouder of our dedicated customer service team who made it possible,” said Scott Heath, Aiken Pest Control’s co-owner.
The 2018 award is a direct result of Aiken Pest Control’s determination to service excellence within the category of Pest Control/Exterminating in Aiken and the CSRA. In order to receive the Angie’s List Super Service Award, Aiken Pest Control had to meet or exceeded an elite set of requirements set forth by Angie’s List operational guidelines, including earning a minimum number of “A” rating reports within the current award year.
