Kimberly Ragland Wheeler, Perry, Ga., announces the engagement of her daughter, Paige Wheeler of Virginia Beach, Va., to Taylor Widener of Aiken, a son of Billy and Elizabeth Widener Aiken.
The wedding is planned for Nov. 9, 2018, at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton.
Couple met while attending the University of South Carolina.
The bride-elect is a maternal granddaughter of Jack and the late Gloria Ragland of Perry, Ga.
She is a 2010 graduate of Cape Henry Collegiate. She is a 2014 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, a 2016 graduate with a master’s in sports and entertainment management, and a 2017 graduate of Northumbria Univristy (UK) with a master’s in digital marketing. She is employed as a freelance digital marketing specialist.
The groom-elect is a maternal grandson of the late Raymond and Lavon Jewell, and a paternal grandson of the late Harold and Sabra Widener.
He is a 2013 graduate of South Aiken High School. He attended the University of South Carolina and studied criminal justice. He is employed as a professional baseball player with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
