The Hopelands Concert Series will be held Mondays through June. The Aiken Concert Band will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Roland H. Windham Performing Arts Stage at Hopelands Gardens, 135 Dupree Place. Lawn chairs and blankets may be brought, as well as picnic dinners, non-alcoholic beverages and well-behaved pets on leashes. Guests can park at the Green Boundary Club, 780 Whiskey Road. Handicap parking is available at the Rye Patch parking lot on Berrie Road and the Hopelands Gardens parking lot. In case of inclement weather, performances will be moved to the Aiken Senior & Youth Center, 841 Edgefield Ave. N.W. Only service animals are allowed in Odell Weeks. The deadline for the Society of Women Engineers CSRA Section's 2019 Scholarship Program is today. Women in their senior year of high school who plan to major in engineering, math or science should apply for the scholarship. In 2019, SWE CSRA expects to award at least one scholarship. A Teen Cuisine program will be held today and Thursday, and June 18, 20, 25 and 27, at the Lessie B. Price Senior and Youth Center, 841 Edgefield Ave. N.W. The free program is designed for teens in sixth to 12th grades. Participants will learn to read labels to choose healthier foods and snacks, identify proper portion sizes, use MyPlate guidelines to plan meals and snacks, safe food handling practices and cooking and measuring techniques to prepare recipes.
