Jason Pughe, a regional football scout for the Carolinas and Florida, will be the guest speaker Thursday at an information meeting sponsored by Education Exposure Through Athletics.

The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Amphitheater in the 700 Building at Aiken Technical College at 2276 Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville.

Pughe, the Thundercloud Recruit sales manager, has been a scout in the Carolinas for 10 years, is the founder of, has been the southeast regional manager and scout for National Preps and has been the recruiting editor for FNF Magazine – Carolinas.

Topics at the meeting will include NCAA recruiting and eligibility, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and financial aid, core grade point average, the SAT and the ACT.

Founded by LaFayette A. Stewart Jr., Education Exposure Through Athletics “assists student athletes and parents to become better informed about the NCAA recruiting and eligibility process while they embark on their journey to achieve an athletic scholarship,” according to an email from the organization.

A native of North Augusta and a 2002 graduate of North Augusta High, Stewart has held positions in Aiken County Public Schools as Aiken Works lead coordinator, Jumpstart Summer Internship lead coordinator, SCESP goodwill lead coordinator and District Work Based Learning coordinator.
