Letters to the editor-2021

Some friends and I got our free tickets online and headed to Newberry Street on April 15 to sample food and look at some art samples.

We are all in our 70s, not the best on our feet – so it was absolutely impossible for us to grab a bite to eat, as the lines at some of the food trucks were very long and there was hardly any seating offered or tables. This was poorly organized – fewer food trucks and more seating would heave helped the atmosphere – trucks should be able to provide their own seating arrangements, but there was no room for that. It is possible at the Oktoberfest, why not at this event?

People were grabbing seats in The Alley. The wait for a table at Whiskey Alley was 2 hours so we drove out to Grumpy’s instead and ate there.

What a shame, as the idea sounded so promising, and people came out – it was packed on Newberry Street, thank God, we still have that wonderful venue.

If this event returns, there needs to be more seating and fewer food trucks.
