What is a public hearing?

I finally realize what a “public hearing “ is. That’s when you go let council listen to you then read later in the newspaper that they were just giving you some space to vent. Why? Because they had already decided what the ending of the story was going to be.

Why? Why? Because they are not affected by the circumstances of the public hearing. I am all for creating homes, jobs and communities for families butr let’s share some of the unpleasant results.

When it’s my dime being spent I constantly hear “we are all in this together.” When it’s the other way around — government expecting to receive $182 million then it doesn’t seem to matter. Of course, that’s just one example.

If the Northside is said to be a gateway to the city, then council best create another gate because the smell, congestion and lack of clean water will definitely affect our city’s progress because that gate will remain closed. I guess you could enter the back way or fly into the city.

By the way, did someone get back with me on what kind of business is to be carried out on the second and third floors of the “mixed-use” building to be constructed on Newberry? I didn’t get the email.
