TalkBack for Oct. 9 10/9/2008 12:01 AM Calling 911
You shouldn't call 911 if it wasn't a real emergency.
Qualified teachers
I send my child to school. That is my job. The teachers are supposed to be qualified to teach them.
Spending money
How can you qualify for food stamps and still be able to buy Barney's Coffee, have manicures and carry Coach bags? I guess if you don't have to buy food, you can spend your money on other things.
Stealing cable
Stealing cable is a federal offense, and if you have proof, you should let Atlantic Broadband know. They should follow up and prosecute it.
Pretty pumpkins
The prettiest pumpkins I have found this year are at Southside Produce on Pine Log Road.
Dogs hit
My two dogs escaped from their kennel and were hit by a car on Sand Dam Road. This person should have at least stopped and put the body on the side of the road.
Thanks
I would like to thank the Aiken Mall cinemas for bringing "Fireproof." This was the first time I felt good about inviting my adult children to see a movie with me.
I would like to thank Michael Hunt and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office for quickly catching the person who broke into my store yesterday. They used the bloodhounds, caught the person who did it and returned all of my stuff.
Ball and chain
Prisoners should be made to wear the striped uniforms and wear a ball and chain around their ankle. If you do the crime, you should be made to pay no matter how old you are. The parents of children should also be made to pay for their children's destruction.
'Graceland'
This is for the young lady who's parents drove 10 hours from Aiken for her to be on "Live at Graceland." I was on my way to work early last month and heard her live on Elvis radio around 4:45 a.m. Just wanted her to know that someone from Aiken heard her!

Comment Title: Thank you Rachel Johnson
My daughter and I would like to thank Rachel Johnson of the Aiken Standard for her wonderful article, she wrote on our new business Southern Tyme Photos. It was very nice. Thanks, V. Goff and L. Bridges
