Environmentalists are the problem
Wake up America! It is not "big oil" but "big environment" that has created high gas prices. Every time you vote for a Democrat, you vote for higher gas prices. We have the oil, let us drill.
Why couldn't they relax some?
Schofield parents should find out why the students were not allowed to relax after taking PACT. They had a lunch and then returned to class as normal.
Don't appease the squirrels in war
I also live in an upscale-gated community in Aiken. It is not a pleasure to trap and kill squirrels. It is a War. The squirrels attacked my house and caused the following damage: holes in the gutters all the way around my house; holes in the porch screen; holes in the pillows on the porch. They also chewed the plastic liner of the yard pond and the power cables to the pond pump and pond light. And after chewing a hole into the attic, they took up residence there. But when they ate my Christmas lights on top of my two-story house, this meant war.
What could be bad about a curfew?
Why would any parent be against a curfew for our young people in Aiken? Why should young people be hanging out in streets and loitering about after 11 p.m.? Are there really parents in our community that think their kids should not be in bed at that hour? Parents have to be responsible for proper training of their children. Kids don't belong in the streets at all hours of the night.
Curfew is needed for our children
For the first time, the Aiken Council is doing something that I agree with. We need this curfew. I grew up in this town and after midnight there is nothing but trouble out there. By making this curfew law you will be the reason for keeping some of these kids out of jail and out of gangs and not to mention maybe a few more will graduate.
Kids shouldn't be out late anyway
I think the curfew is a good idea. Kids shouldn't be at 11 p.m. or midnight. The parents should wonder where their kids are if they're out that late.
