Bullet removed from man after 12 years
ORANGEBURG (AP) -- A doctor in Orangeburg has removed a bullet that was lodged in a man's back for more than a decade.
The Times and Democrat reports that authorities aren't sure why the 32-year-old man went to the doctor last weekend, or why the bullet was never removed.
Medical staff followed state law and told law enforcement they had treated a man with a gunshot wound.
The man told Orangeburg County deputies he was shot in October 1999, but his story didn't match any police reports on file. Authorities are still looking into the man's story.
