Police: GPS device linked man to Loris shooting

CONWAY (AP) -- Authorities said a man charged with murder in a Loris shooting was tracked to the crime scene with a GPS monitoring bracelet he was wearing as he awaiting trial in a different shooting.

Horry County Police said 21-year-old Jamar Wilson was arrested Friday, just hours after 33-year-old Gemell Drakeford died from a gunshot wound to his leg.

Investigators said Wilson's GPS monitor put him at the scene of the shooting in Loris. Wilson had to wear the device as part of his bond after he was charged as an accessory after the fact in a fatal shooting in November 2010.

Police don't have a motive for the latest shooting.

Wilson is being held without bond. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
