Mr. Sligh was born in Augusta, GA and he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a welder by trade, loved hunting and fishing and he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley W. Sligh, his children: Jesse Sligh (Elizabeth Willling), Bath, SC and Keith Cockrell ( Lacy Bennett), Saluda, SC; step-children: Stephen Anderson (Jessica), Blythe, GA and Rebekah Anderson (Blake Benson, Clearwater, SC; three sisters, Diana McClendon, North Augusta, SC, Trudy Burg, North Carolina and Frankie Owens, John’s Island, SC and four grandchildren: Ella Sligh, Keith Cockrell, Jr, Michael Cockrell, Anslee Cockrell and Kaylah Anderson.
Services will be private.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Associ-ation in memory of Mark.
The Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, US Hwy. #1, Langley, SC is assisting the Sligh family.
