Staff high school football predictions

South Florence at North Augusta

Cam: This is going to be a shootout. Don't leave your seat for popcorn. North Augusta 46, South Florence 35

Noah: The Yellow Jackets have been building for this time of season for a year and won't let up now. North Augusta 34, South Florence 21

Jeremy: South Florence is a really good 13-seed, but North Augusta also happens to be a really good 5-seed. I give the edge to the home team. North Augusta 42, South Florence 34

Mullins at Silver Bluff

Cam: These are two evenly matched teams, and I expect the game to come down to the wire. But I can't go against the Bulldogs the way they've been playing. Silver Bluff 26, Mullins 22

Noah: The Auctioneers are winning with defense, which almost always leads to titles, but the Bulldogs have too many capable players on offense. Silver Bluff 23, Mullins 16

Jeremy: Both teams beat Aynor pretty soundly, but it seems that Silver Bluff's defense might give the Bulldogs the advantage at home. Silver Bluff 21, Mullins 14

Emerald at Strom Thurmond

Cam: This is the only SCHSL game on our slate this week that I didn't really have to think about. The Rebels will continue to roll. Strom Thurmond 44, Emerald 20

Noah: Even without the superb Darius Hammond, the Rebels will roll because they are so good across the board. Strom Thurmond 42, Emerald 6

Jeremy: Emerald has put together a good playoff run to this point, but that run will end in Johnston tonight. Strom Thurmond 45, Emerald 13

Williston-Elko at Christ Church

Cam: I've done everything I could think of to try to find an edge in this matchup, and I can't do it. It looks dead even. In that case, I can't help but pick the home team. Christ Church 30, Williston-Elko 28

Noah: The Blue Devils have improved each week and have had an unexpectedly great season, but won't have enough offensive firepower to return to the state championship game for a fourth consecutive season. Christ Church 36, Williston-Elko 32

Jeremy: Until injuries stalled the Predator attack, Christ Church showed a vulnerability against the run. That doesn't bode well for the home Cavaliers against the Williston-Elko wishbone. Williston-Elko 34, Christ Church 31

Wardlaw vs. Patrick Henry

Cam: The Patriots really haven't been challenged all year, and it doesn't look like tonight will be the night. Wardlaw won easily the first time, and there's no reason to believe it won't happen again. Wardlaw 36, Patrick Henry 20

Noah: Another championship season for the Patriots will be capped off tonight. Wardlaw 56, Patrick Henry 14

Jeremy: Nothing has stopped Wardlaw's offense so far this season, and I don't see that stopping now. The Patriots take the title. Wardlaw 48, Patrick Henry 19

Cam: 75-17 (.815)

Noah: 61-22 (.734)

Jeremy: 67-25 (.728)
