Connellys celebrate 50 years
On June 4, 1961, Buford Connelly and Janelle Wise were married at a relative's home near Holston's Cross Roads in Batesburg, South Carolina. They moved to Aiken, South Carolina where they took up residence, raising two sons (Lee and Kevin). Buford is a retired telephone man from Bell South. Janelle is a retired school teacher. Buford and Janelle, along with their immediate family and other close relatives, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Charleston, South Carolina. They had a celebratory dinner at the Fat Hen Restaurant on John's Island on June 17, 2011, hosted by their children. Buford and Janelle are known for their love of family, service to Charles Wesley United Methodist Church, spoiling their grandchildren (Justin and Corey), Buford's wonderful home-grown tomatoes and their love for each other. Congratulations to Buford and Janelle!
