New Ellenton releases election results

An election was held in New Ellenton on Tuesday to fill three City Council seats and a seat on the Commission of Public Works.The unofficial results shows that the City Council seats will go to Democrat David Dunbar with 224 votes, Democrat Earth Rogers with 200 votes and Republican Daniel Braswell with 173 votes. Other contenders included Republican Rex L. Nordeen, who got 163 votes, and Republican Joseph Bradrick, who got 151 votes. Democrat Sammie McDuffie Jr. won the commission seat with 256 votes over Republican Paulette Shaw, who garnered 106 votes. A total of 375 votes were cast in this election.Winners will take office May 1.
