Lenten luncheons begin next Feb. 29 at GUMC
The community Lenten services begin next Wednesday.
There will be two seatings for lunch, one at noon and again at 1 p.m. The Lenten service will be at 12:30 p.m.
The first service will be at Grace United Methodist Church, and Fr. David Thompson of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will provide the message.

St. Bartholomew's to fry fish for Lent
St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will continue observing Lent with Lenten fish fries on three Fridays.
The first is set for Friday, Feb. 24, followed by March 9 and 23. The dinner time is 6 to 7 p.m.
During each dinner there are fried fish take out plates available for $6.50 each. They include fried fish, fries, hush puppies and coleslaw.
A fish sandwich plate is $6.50 as well with the same sides.
Those who wish to eat-in can do so for $7.
Church members will also offer grits as a substitute for the fries.
To place an order, call the church at 279-4622. Pre-orders are recommended.
Proceeds will go to missions and other St. Bart ministries.
Worship and learn about missions at BFBC
Belvedere First Baptist Church will hold a night of worship and missions next Wednesday, Feb. 29, beginning at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Dr. Harold Peasley will be the guest. He is the founder of Multi-Ministries. He has concentrated his efforts in South Africa, seeking to develop projects and bring teams from around the world to minister in and around that area.
Dr. Peasley is the guest preacher for the evening. The church's youth praise band will be leading the worship through music.
First Providence to hold Black History program
First Providence Baptist Church will present a Black History program on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m., featuring the First Providence Combined Choir and The Wardlaw Brothers from Atlanta.

Black History banquet at Carey Hill Baptist
Carey Hill Baptist Church will host an educational black history banquet on Saturday, Feb. 25, beginning at 6 p.m.
The Rev. George Brightharp, pastor of Mount Canaan Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. Also, Thelma J. Robinson of Aiken will serve as the guest soloist.
The tickets to the event are $20 for adults and $10 for school-aged children.
The Carey Hill Baptist Church Resource & Conference Center is located at 1591 Edgefield Road, North Augusta.
All proceeds are tax deductible and will benefit the Rev. S.J. McCain Education Fund.

Lydia Project to hold cutting day Feb. 25
The Lydia Project will host a cutting day at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb. 25, beginning at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
Jobs include cutting bags, linings, tops and pockets; writing notes of encouragement; organizing packets as bag cuttings are completed; and possibly cutting purple handles.
The Lydia Project cutting day is combined with the normally scheduled Loaves and Fishes quilting day once every six weeks.
Concert to be at Mt. Transfiguration
Mount Transfiguration Baptist Church, 350 Blanchard Road, will sponsor a concert featuring its Tabernacle and Friendship Choirs on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m.

Women in Unity to hold banquet this Saturday
The annual banquet of Women In Unity will be held on Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Antioch Baptist Church, located at 1843 Highway 23 in Edgefield.
Tickets are $20.

Black History program at Old Storm Branch
Old Storm Branch Baptist Church will hold a Black History program on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2:30 p.m.
Dr. Valinda Littlefield, associate professor of history and director of African-American Studies at USC, will be the guest speaker.
'Family and Friends' at Hammond Grove
Hammond Grove Word Power Ministry will host its annual Family and Friends Sunday on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Dr. Philip Dunston and Friendship Ministries are the guests.

The next Bolivia Mission Trip sponsored by Grace United Methodist Church is planned for June 8-17.

Join Apples of Gold Bible study
The Apples of Gold Bible study at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church now includes 19 women.
The group's first session was spent getting to know one another and sharing food and fellowship.
The remainder of the sessions will be Feb. 12, Feb. 26, March 11, March 25, April 15 and April 21. Anyone interesting in joining the Bible study can meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall on those dates.
'Camp-In' for kids at FBC
First Baptist Church, North Augusta, will hold a "Camp-In" for grades 1 through 5 on Friday, March 9, beginning at 6 p.m. through Saturday, March 10 at 8 a.m.
Dinner and breakfast will be provided. There will be games, a movie and a glow-in-the-dark tag.
Those wishing to attend are asked to call the church office at 279-6370 by March 5.

First Providence Baptist Church, located at 315 Barton Road, holds Sunday School classes every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.
Children's church follows at 9;15 a.m., with the regular worship service set for 9:45 a.m.
