TalkBack for Feb. 21: Budget voting, Deserving benefits
Budget voting
To the gentleman who wrote the budget vote down - I wish you would get off and think what you're doing because basically the Republicans are trying to save your kids' future. If you wait any longer, we'll find out they don't have one. We'll be more of a dependent nation, dependent on the government to do this, dependent on the government to that. We need to stand up, go to work and enjoy our lives, and the more you improve your life, the more you improve your children's lives. So, what I can say is just get off your seat and do some work for a living.
To the person who blames the Republicans for voting down the budget: The budget has not been voted upon. It is Harry Reid, a Democrat, who announced immediately that he would not allow a vote on the budget.
Last year the budget sent to Congress was voted down 96-0. That means every Democrat voted against it, too.
In answer to the devoted Democratic Party zombie who complained that the Republicans voted down the "president's budget" before seeing it: can you say "Obamacare" being passed in the dead of the night? I believe it was your Democratic House Speaker who said, "we'll have to pass it to find out what's in it." So I say, try to crank up the left side of your brain a bit and put it to use.
Deserving benefits
As a veteran teacher in both public and charter schools, I would like to say that both are well deserving of the benefits from the state pension. As an added note, while I am currently employed within the charter school system, I will say I work harder than I ever have in my entire teaching career, all for a wonderful cause - teaching in a way that the public schools are less inclined to teach our students and holding students to a higher standard of learning. We provide a caring and welcoming environment for every child to make learning accessible and possible for all.
