Cooking with Madjon: Creamed Leeks and Parsnips




TOTAL TIME: 30 minutes

PREP TIME: 10 minutes

COOK TIME: 20 minutes

YIELD: 6

INGREDIENTS

1 bunch of fresh leeks, cleaned and cut into rings

2 packages of fresh parsnips, cleaned and cut into rings

Juice from 1 lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup of sour cream

1 stick of butter

1 tsp. of garlic powder

1 tsp. of onion powder

1/4 cup of Half and Half

DIRECTIONS

1. Put the leeks and parsnips in a large pot, cover with water and heat on stove until it reaches a simmer.

2. Turn down heat and keep the dish simmering; add the garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders and the butter.

3. Cook until the water reduces down to the vegetables.

4. When cooked, add the sour cream and half and half.

Note: Blend the mixture for a smoother texture if wanted.
