TalkBack for Feb. 18: Horse people, Dear governor, Budget voting, Charter schools, Semper Fi
Horse people
I appreciate the horse people in Aiken County, I really do. If you had a garden, ask them for manure. They'd gladly give it to you. Have a relationship with them. Talk to them.
Dear Governor
Dear Governor: We are dissatisfied with your job performance. We hired you, and if you can't do better, we will fire you. I know you think you were voted in. We hired you, and we can fire you.
Budget voted down
It figures the Republicans voted down the budget before they even got it. Before it was delivered to the Senate, they had already voted the budget down. Do you see what's happening here? Republicans are setting up another fiasco right before the election.
Charter schools
This letter is in response to the person who wrote that charter school teachers and administrators should not be part of the South Carolina pension system. I recently transferred my son to Midland Valley Prep, a public charter school, and in less than two months my son's teachers have taught, inspired, and motivated him more than all six years combined in the traditional public schools. Not only should these men and women be part of our pension system, they should receive medals for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Semper Fi?
I may be the only veteran in the world who doesn't know what "Semper Fi" means. I was not a Marine but in the U.S. Army. I would like to know what it means.
Phone numbers
I have some phone numbers of suspected crack dealers. Is there a phone number or a tip line to have the police check them out?
Our soldiers
It's amazing that another drug addict celebrity dies, and the whole country acts like it's the worst thing that's ever happened. We have soldiers out on the front lines dying for our freedoms every day; Marines, airmen, sailors and all of the other men and women who serve this country, but they don't receive even a quarter of the coverage who some drug addict that overdosed did. How can we care more about her than our soldiers? How messed up has our society become?
Maintenance workers
About the students and parents cleaning up the high school - whatever happened to the maintenance workers?
