Police Blotter for Feb. 14
An out-of-town resident reported that his Visa card had been used without his authorization. The card was charged at a local home improvement store. Store video was scheduled to be reviewed.
An Aiken County woman called police Sunday after witnessing a man choke a small child at Walmart on Whiskey Road. The woman said she confronted the man who then became angry and began using profanity. She said she followed the man out of the store and took down vehicle information for law enforcement. The officer said he will review store video.
A car break-in was reported on Schroder Avenue over the weekend. The victim said electronics were reportedly stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.
A car break-in was reported on Hampton Avenue on Saturday. The victim reported that her purse was stolen. A window was shattered.
The owner of a downtown restaurant said her "no parking" signs were vandalized. An unidentified person wrote "Hotel Aiken Parking Only" written on them in black marker.
A car break-in was reported at a fast-food restaurant on Whiskey Road late last week. The woman's sunglasses and electronics were reported as stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.
