TalkBack: Ticket bicyclists, pensions, Super Bowl, Newt, headlights, new CVS
Ticket bicyclists
Will our law enforcement please start ticketing bicyclists who do not follow the rules of the road and do not adhere to stop signs or yield signs? If they continue on, we will have more and more bicyclists hit by cars, and they deserve it because they are running stop signs. I wish they would start doing something about it, and there is a way to turn them in, but there is no way to get a license on them.
Pensions
When asked what happened to the AIG billions, the CEO threw up his hands and buried his head and said, "I don't know." He didn't go to jail. What happened to South Carolina pensions? Guess.
Super Bowl
I was excited about going to the Super Bowl. I couldn't see a thing. I found out I could see the game much better at home.
Hard to see
When will bicyclists and walkers realize it is difficult to see them at dusk and in foggy conditions? Especially when they are not wearing reflective clothes.
Newt too optimistic?
Listening to Newt Gingrich's speech after his second-place finish in the Florida primary, one might mistakenly think that he was the winner. Newt is one of the most delusional candidates to ever seek the office of the presidency of the United States.
I am home
My family and I moved here from Michigan after retiring, bought a beautiful lot with many trees and built a house. Since then, in the past 20 years, we have had neighbors build a house on both sides of ours and across the street. I kept almost all of the trees on my lot, and the neighbors have cut down at least 90 percent of theirs. The kicker here is that they are both born and raised Carolinians. And to the person who wrote to the "Northern neighbors," I am home!
No headlights
I am in full accord with the person who complained about people who drive in the rain or fog with no headlights. I ran up on a car with no lights in the fog recently before I ever saw it. Though I wasn't going fast at all, I still had to hit my brakes harder than I wanted to.
Hard workers
I was at the CVS, the new store. I was very impressed with the store. But the manager there, if that's the way she's going to talk to her employees, I will not be back. Her employees worked very hard.
