LETTER: Time for Democrats to go to work
With a lull in the Republicans' presidential race, there is time for the defeated candidates to lick their wounds, and for the Democrats to come out of hibernation. It's time to reenergize our campaign machinery and prepare for the contest ahead.
The Aiken County Democratic Party will hold precinct meetings on March 3 at locations in Aiken, North Augusta and New Ellenton with several precincts at each location to elect officers and delegates to the county convention.
Aiken County Democratic Party officer elections will be held at the Aiken County Convention to be held at the Aiken Electric Cooperative Building on March 22, followed by the Sixth Annual Dorn-Derrick Dinner at the same location on March 23.
According to County Chairman Harold Crawford, this year's campaign will be of particular importance with several local and state offices up for election, in addition to president and vice president of the United States.
