Police look into drive-by shooting
An Aiken woman whose Schroder Avenue residence was fired at during a drive-by shooting late Wednesday told police she thought the gunman may have been targeting her because she is a witness in a case that she said is under investigation.
The home, on the 700 block of Schroder Avenue, has also been linked to a June shooting incident that led to the arrest of multiple suspects on numerous charges, according to officials.
The shooting reported this week occurred around 10 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.
The officers initially found a shattered screen door window and a small hole in the front door.
When the officers met with the victim, she said she was with her family in the living room watching television when she heard anywhere from three to five loud shots.
She said the first shot hit the front door, but she didn't know where the others had struck the residence.
The officer located several rounds that struck the house, including one round that struck the front door and two rounds that struck the bedroom area, police said.
They found five shell casings the roadway directly in front of the residence, according to the report.
None of the neighbors had "any valuable information," police said.
The case is under investigation.
